My Joy Journey

"Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16

I've created this blog to be an honest look into my life, my family, my blessings and my struggles as I continue to seek to find the joy that He promises.

Six Years

A couple of weeks ago, August 7th, Michael and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary. Time sure does fly! We had a great anniversary. Of course, Michael gave me a lot of the day off as he does a lot of weekends, taking Anne Botts on errands and then after dropping AB off at my parents for the night, we went to a nice dinner at Ruth's Chris to celebrate. We had a wonderful leisurely dinner with amazing food and divine dessert! We have been so blessed in the 6 years of marriage and 10 years we've been together. I have am amazing husband, most of you who know him would agree :) He is the best father and husband I could have asked for. He continues to give and give to me and Anne Botts tirelessly without complaint. Whether it's the bathtime and bedtime each night that I'm too exhausted for or the Saturday mornings he takes her to Panera to give me some "me" time, he is always doing for us. I am guilty to soak it all up and get selfish and not give to him as much because with his job and all he does for us, he has very little "me" time. Michael, I just want to say thank you and I love you for all you are to us and who you are. I pray the Lord blesses us with 66 more years!

Independence Day

I'm still catching up on my blogging, so still a little behind, but close to current! We had a great 4th of July this year. Our neighborhood has such a fun annual neighborhood parade where we join the neighbors and walk up to the entrance in our red, white and blue garb and follow the fire truck down to a neighbor's house who hosts donuts and juice. The kids all had a great time checking out the fire truck this year and Anne Botts was especially interested in the truck up close this year :) We spent the day at the pool with friends and then played with neighbors in the afternoon on their slip n' slide and ended the day grilling out with family. Enjoy the pics!

Hilton Head Disney visit

Anne Botts had a last minute exciting trip to Hilton Head right before July 4th with her grandmother, (Gigi), Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jimmy and cousin Corey. It sounds like they had a GREAT time! Sarah and Jimmy have a time share at the Disney resort there, so they went down to the condo for a few days and took Anne Botts with them! If you haven't checked out the resort online, you really should. It is completely family oriented and of course includes all types of Disney-related activities. She swam in the Mickey Mouse shaped pools, saw fireworks each night and attended a campfire with all the children at the resort. Apparently, one of her favorite things while she was there were the big bouncy balls at the pool that squirted out water at all angles, you can see that below :) I've included a couple of pictures I was forwarded from the trip and will get more scanned soon. This place sounds incredible for kids and we are hoping to make it a regular yearly trip for us in the coming years!

Princesses, princesses and more princesses...

Anne Botts has certainly entered the "princess" phase of her toddler years :) Everything is princess, Cinderella, Belle, tu-tu, glass slippers, etc. Even when she puts on her crocs in the morning and one falls off, you can hear her screaming across the house, "Uh-oh, Mommy I lost my glass slipper!" It's a really fun time watching her be so girly. She keeps us entertained with her imagination and all the stories she has about going to the ball with Cinderella, or getting married like Cinderella when she gets big, or even going to fly to Neverland with Peter Pan. One thing she did this summer was attend a friend's princess birthday party! Anne Botts was dressed up as the special guest, Snow White! So, I managed to get a few great pics of Anne Botts with her friends and Snow White.

Baby Girl Juby AGAIN!

We are SO excited to announce that baby number 2 due first of December is a GIRL! We are so excited for Anne Botts to have a sister and watch this relationship grow as our girls grow. Michael was convinced it was a girl from day 1, but I needed some convincing. And sure enough, on July 17th, the ultrasound technician said, "Congratulations, you are having a girl!" I will post some ultrasound pictures soon after we have our next ultrasound in a few weeks. In the meantime, you can see Anne Botts' shouting out to the world below that she's a Big Sister! Please join us in praying for this little girl as God continues to "knit her together". This is such an exciting time for us!

We're Back!

Hi all!
I have to apologize for the month and a half long break I took from blogging! It's been a fun and busy summer for us and it is coming to a close - hard to believe! We've had lots of fun-filled activities this summer, so am working on posting them all today and this week. Stay tuned!!
