My Joy Journey

"Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16

I've created this blog to be an honest look into my life, my family, my blessings and my struggles as I continue to seek to find the joy that He promises.

Lipstick Jungle

Things have been very busy around the Juby household lately! Michael has been logging all kinds of hours at the firm for the last 6 weeks and in any spare time we've had on the weekends, we've been trying to get Anne Botts settled in her new big girl room (pics to come!) and the nursery ready for baby #2 as well! I thought I'd post a pic that pretty much sums up Anne Botts lately :) I was getting ready in my bathroom on Tuesday morning and she asked me, "Mommy, can I have your clear lipstick?" This usually means my clear lip gloss. I gave her permission to go downstairs and get it out of my bag, knowing it would buy me a few more minutes to get ready before we had to leave for Bible study. She was gone for about 5 minutes and then I heard her coming upstairs mumbling something about needing to wash her hands, which is not out of the ordinary because the child insists on washing her hands at least 10 times a day. I walk into her bathroom and this is what I see :) NOT the clear lip gloss, she went downstairs for...

Sweet friends

Some good friends of mine from college had a very small brunch for me at their house last weekend with just a handful of girls here in Charlotte. It was so sweet..they made some yummy food and showered me with diapers galore! Thanks to you girls for making baby #2 feel special!

Halloween

Halloween was lots of fun this year. Anne Botts dressed up as Cinderella and made her debut at several places, including play group, her dad's office party and our neighborhood party that afternoon. I've posted pics below. She was on the move, so I didn't catch many!

Pumpkin time!

The week before last, our family had a great time ringing fall 2010 in, FINALLY! We started the day out with a visit to Hunter Farm here in Charlotte, then we went home to carve our pumpkin. The farm is here in Charlotte and it's just a sweet family farm that offers a hay ride, a visit down to the milk maid and dairy quarters, then on to the petting zoo and back to pick out your pumpkin! It is perfect for a morning activity in the fall. Anne Botts had a great time and so did we. Enjoy the pictures below!

Beach and Birthdays!

Last month, we had a great end of summer vacation with my parents at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. It was great! We had the pleasure of celebrating Anne Botts' 3rd birthday while we were there which was definitely the highlight of the week! Her birthday started out with a yummy bday breakfast, courtesy of Pillsbury :), and she blew out her first candle of the day with princess balloons to boot! When I walked in her room that morning, she said, "Mommy, I turned number 3 in my crib all by myself!" We then drove to Southport, where we took the ferry over to the Ft. Fisher acquarium. We had lots of fun and saw all kind of neat sea creatures. We ended the day with a pizza party and cake. I've included pictures from the trip and her birthday so enjoy them below!

School Days

Anne Botts started her 3 year old preschool class on August 23rd at Calvary preschool. She is going 3 days a week and loving it! Involved in her curriculum this year is computers, science, fun n' fitness, spanish and drama! Drama is going to be a joke because we all know she needs no more instruction in that area ;) Anyway, it's going great so far and we are looking forward to a good year with some old friends included from last year. Below is a picture of her on her first day getting ready to go!

Six Years

A couple of weeks ago, August 7th, Michael and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary. Time sure does fly! We had a great anniversary. Of course, Michael gave me a lot of the day off as he does a lot of weekends, taking Anne Botts on errands and then after dropping AB off at my parents for the night, we went to a nice dinner at Ruth's Chris to celebrate. We had a wonderful leisurely dinner with amazing food and divine dessert! We have been so blessed in the 6 years of marriage and 10 years we've been together. I have am amazing husband, most of you who know him would agree :) He is the best father and husband I could have asked for. He continues to give and give to me and Anne Botts tirelessly without complaint. Whether it's the bathtime and bedtime each night that I'm too exhausted for or the Saturday mornings he takes her to Panera to give me some "me" time, he is always doing for us. I am guilty to soak it all up and get selfish and not give to him as much because with his job and all he does for us, he has very little "me" time. Michael, I just want to say thank you and I love you for all you are to us and who you are. I pray the Lord blesses us with 66 more years!
